Here's a little bit about me for anyone who's interested.
I love to cook food, eat food, share food, read about food, photograph food and talk about food.
I spent a large part of my twenties living in France where I started life as a chalet cook and began my journey as a chef without really realising it, happy as larry I could indulge my passion for cooking and snowboarding on a daily basis! Many years of travel, cooking, exploring, eating and generally having fun ensued!
My first experience of food writing and styling came whilst working as Hospitality Manager in France for Neilson Active Holidays. I contributed to their core menu and chalet cookery manual to be used across their winter chalet programme, and also developed and delivered training for chalet chefs.
Whilst running the Well Seasoned Chalet Cookery Course I wrote and photographed the Well Seasoned Chalet Cook Book which was used on the cookery course and contained a wealth of recipes for students to take away with them.
I started this blog with the hope it will enable me to develop my interest in food styling and photography and share some of my favourite recipes both begged and borrowed. I am naturally drawn towards healthy food made from local, seasonal and sustainable produce which I hope to further explore. My love of the outdoors has also driven my interest in foraged and wild foods which also might pop up here now and again.
In 2011 I completed a Food Writing course with Lulu Grimes at Leiths School of Food and Wine to develop my writing further, I am also a closet computer geek which comes in handy.
Now based in the UK in recent years I have worked in both Inflight and events catering; from intimate dinners in private homes to afternoon tea at large marquee garden parties and beautiful weddings in historical venues.
